Cruising with children on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

Fred. Olsen families must choose the ship as well as the itinerary. Its current children’s policy differs from older descriptions of the fleet and its former club.

Children’s eligibility and programs

Fred. Olsen’s FAQ says Bolette and Balmoral accept children aged 12 months–17 years, while Borealis is adults only. The line says its Little Skippers children’s club has been discontinued.

Planning the trip together

Choose Bolette or Balmoral only after checking the departure’s age requirements and cabin availability. Plan sea days as shared family time, bringing games and choosing excursions that fit your child’s attention span. Do not budget adult time around a Little Skippers schedule found in an old review. Ask about any suitable onboard activities that are actually planned for your sailing.

What to check with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

  • Confirm the ship accepts children.
  • Check cabin occupancy and minor-travel documents.
  • Plan without the discontinued Little Skippers club.

Before paying a family cruise deposit

  • Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
  • Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
  • Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
  • Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.

Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
