Cruising with children on Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian’s youth programs can give school-age children and teens their own time, while families choose meals and activities together. Younger children require a different supervision plan.

Children’s eligibility and programs

Norwegian lists Splash Academy for ages 3–12 and Entourage for 13–17. Its Guppies play activities are parent-and-child time, not a promise of drop-off infant care. Confirm current hours, especially during port calls.

Planning the trip together

Ask about the program on the exact ship and how children are grouped on your sailing. Review paid late-evening sessions and activity charges separately from the fare. For a child under three, plan an adult to stay with them during parent-and-child activities. Compare excursion lengths with club hours; do not book an adult-only outing assuming youth care will operate throughout the port day.

What to check with Norwegian Cruise Line

  • Check current Splash Academy and Entourage hours.
  • Confirm younger-child supervision arrangements.
  • Budget for paid activities and any late care.

Before paying a family cruise deposit

  • Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
  • Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
  • Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
  • Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.

Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
