Cruising with children on Oceanwide Expeditions

Oceanwide’s minimum age and its suitability advice are different. A child being permitted to travel does not mean the operator recommends the experience for that age.

Children’s eligibility and programs

Oceanwide’s age-restriction FAQ gives a minimum age of three but advises against bringing children under eight. Read this as an expedition-suitability warning rather than simply a low age threshold.

Planning the trip together

Discuss the child’s stamina and interest with the line, especially for long sea passages and cold-weather landings. Plan parent participation throughout the trip and pack activities for days when conditions prevent going ashore. Ask about cabin configuration and the constraints of the actual vessel. Select a voyage your child can enjoy without relying on every advertised landing or optional adventure being possible.

What to check with Oceanwide Expeditions

  • Discuss suitability as well as minimum age.
  • Confirm Zodiac and optional activity limits.
  • Plan indoor days and parent supervision.

Before paying a family cruise deposit

  • Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
  • Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
  • Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
  • Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.

Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
