Cruising with children on Royal Caribbean International

Royal Caribbean offers several age-specific family options, but its nursery is ship dependent. Choose the actual vessel before making childcare the basis of a booking.

Children’s eligibility and programs

Royal Caribbean describes Adventure Ocean for ages 3–12 and nursery drop-off for babies and toddlers aged 6–36 months on selected ships. The presence of Adventure Ocean does not mean a particular ship also has a nursery.

Planning the trip together

For a baby, confirm the nursery, its opening hours, fees and reservation arrangements first. For older children, look at the ship’s actual attractions and participation limits. Register for essential care promptly, while keeping time for meals and shared activities. Paid late-night care and optional attractions can change the family budget even when the core youth program is included.

What to check with Royal Caribbean International

  • Confirm a nursery on your ship if needed.
  • Check age and toilet-training rules.
  • Review attraction height limits and paid care.

Before paying a family cruise deposit

  • Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
  • Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
  • Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
  • Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.

Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
