Cruising with children on Silversea Cruises

Silversea’s classic and expedition voyages should be evaluated separately for a family. Check both the child’s entry requirements and the activities you want to share.

Children’s eligibility and programs

Silversea’s guest conduct policy requires adults to supervise guests under eighteen, including ashore. That obligation should not be replaced by an assumption that the cruise fare includes supervised youth care.

Planning the trip together

Confirm the minimum age for the route with the line and review optional excursion limits. Expedition landings, long transfers and strenuous outings may need a different plan from a port-based cultural cruise. Ask about an extra bed, meals and any care service specifically available on your departure. Prepare independent onboard activities for quiet periods and keep a backup plan for changed landings or excursions.

What to check with Silversea Cruises

  • Confirm route-specific minimum ages.
  • Review parent supervision requirements.
  • Verify cabin occupancy and excursion eligibility.

Before paying a family cruise deposit

  • Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
  • Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
  • Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
  • Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.

Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
