Children’s eligibility and programs
Viking’s ocean FAQ requires every guest to be eighteen on embarkation day and says its ships do not provide children’s facilities. There is no family-club arrangement that overrides that age rule.
Planning the trip together
If a child turns eighteen around the travel dates, check the birthday against embarkation rather than the voyage’s end. For eligible grown-up families, choose ports and excursions that interest each generation and compare cabin arrangements. For a group with younger siblings, keep the whole family’s eligibility in mind before paying; splitting the group across incompatible age policies can complicate the trip.
What to check with Viking Ocean Cruises
- Ensure every guest is eighteen at embarkation.
- Check birthdays against the actual sailing date.
- Choose another line if the group includes minors.
Before paying a family cruise deposit
- Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
- Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
- Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
- Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.
Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
