Children’s eligibility and programs
Virgin’s published guidance sets a minimum age of eighteen to book and sail. Its adults-only policy means a teen below that threshold cannot join a family booking.
Planning the trip together
Check every family member’s age before comparing cabins or buying flights. For an eligible group, discuss the style of entertainment and daily routine so the holiday suits both parents and adult children. Give each person room to choose activities independently, with some shared meals and outings. If the group includes minors, select another operator rather than counting on an exception.
What to check with Virgin Voyages
- Ensure every traveller is eighteen or older.
- Confirm the date used to assess eligibility.
- Choose another line for a trip with younger children.
Before paying a family cruise deposit
- Give the line each child’s age on embarkation day and the exact itinerary before paying a deposit.
- Confirm a bed for every guest, cot availability, and any connecting-cabin arrangement in the booked category.
- Check passports, visas and consent documents for children travelling with one parent or another guardian.
- Ask about club registration, independent toilet use, care hours, fees and age or height limits on activities.
Age rules, programs and availability can change. The cruise line’s current terms for your booking and departure govern your trip.
