Practical guide · Official package terms checked October 13, 2026.
One traveler enjoys several drinks each day. The other mostly wants coffee and water. That difference matters when deciding whether a cruise drink package fits the cabin.
Carnival's CHEERS! product terms require each adult assigned to the same stateroom to purchase the program. The package is for the cruise, has a separate service charge and excludes specified purchases. Its onboard coverage should not be confused with drinks bought ashore.
Begin with the whole cabin total
Use the price shown for your reservation and the number of required participants. Include the service charge and any stated taxes or other applicable costs.
Then multiply across the days covered by that sailing's terms. A per-person daily price is useful for advertising but incomplete for the decision.
Our Carnival Cruise Line page, Carnival Celebration guide and Carnival Jubilee guide help with the ship context. Package terms need to be checked for the actual departure.
Compare ordinary habits
Write down what each person would normally buy. Include the covered nonalcoholic drinks they actually enjoy rather than focusing only on cocktails.
For an example, imagine one person would spend $70 a day and the other $20. That is a combined $90 to compare with the whole cabin's package cost, not proof that either traveler should consume more.
Those figures are an illustration. Use current onboard prices and your own likely purchases for the real calculation.
Give port days their own estimate
A day spent ashore leaves fewer onboard hours to use the package. It may also involve a separate meal and drinks at the destination.
Do not count shore purchases as value delivered by a ship-only benefit. A beach day can be excellent without helping the onboard package pay for itself.
Mark the port days and sea days on the calendar before calculating an average. The itinerary can matter as much as the menu.
Read the exclusions that affect you
Check which drinks and places are covered. Room service, bottles or other purchases may follow different rules from an ordinary covered drink at a bar.
Also read the activation instructions for your departure port. The product's first usable day can matter when comparing a short sailing.
There is no need to memorize every term. Highlight the conditions that intersect with the way you expect to use the package.
Keep the purchase from setting the pace
A prepaid benefit should make the holiday easier, not create a daily target. Buy it only if its coverage suits the trip you wanted to take.
If one person's preferences make the cabin-wide total unattractive, compare buying drinks separately. That is a normal budgeting choice.
Our dining-package guide applies the same principle to meals: count what you want, not everything you could consume.
Include the airport portion
For a Florida flight connection, check Lounge Frog's Miami directory, Miami lounge comparison and food timing guide. Its guest-policy explainer helps price a shared stop.
The right drink plan fits both travelers and the itinerary. Calculate the full amount first, then decide whether the convenience earns its price.
