Five sailings, all close to Norway
Cunard has confirmed that chef Michel Roux will bring Le Gavroche at Sea back to Queen Anne in 2027 and 2028. The program will run on five voyages between May 2027 and June 2028, according to Cruise Industry News, which reported Cunard's announcement on October 13.
The departure dates are:
- May 2, 2027: Norway
- August 29, 2027: Norwegian Fjords
- September 5, 2027: Norwegian Fjords
- May 21, 2028: Norway and Denmark
- June 4, 2028: Norwegian Fjords
That is one more residency per year than in 2026, when Roux hosted four. Three of those were seven-night Norwegian Fjords trips, in May, August and November. The fourth was an Iceland and British Isles voyage in July, according to Cunard's 2026 announcement. The new schedule drops Iceland and stays close to Norway. Two of the 2027 dates run back to back, a week apart, in late August and early September.
Cunard has not yet listed the length of each voyage or its home port in the reports we have seen. Check the voyage page on Cunard's site before you plan flights.
What the residency includes
The dinner takes place in Sir Samuels, one of Queen Anne's specialty restaurants. Seating is capped at 50 guests per evening. For 2026, Cunard described a five-course tasting menu built on the restaurant's heritage, with a focus on seafood. For 2027 and 2028, it says the menu will again draw on Le Gavroche's history and dishes. It has not published a menu or a price.
The rest of the program reaches more people. Roux gives a live cooking demonstration, a Cunard Insights talk, a question-and-answer session and book signings. Every guest on a residency voyage also gets a special three-course gala menu in the main dining rooms. The Carinthia Lounge serves Oysters at Carinthia, a seafood offering, each evening. A guest who misses a seat in Sir Samuels still sees part of the event.
Cunard president Paul Ludlow said the response to the program had been extraordinary since it began, and that the line was glad to extend the partnership.
Why the seats go fast
Le Gavroche closed in London in early 2024 after more than five decades. Cunard now presents the ship as the only place in the world to eat the restaurant's food. Fifty seats a night is a small number on a ship that carries close to 3,000 guests. When Cunard announced the 2026 dates in July 2025, it said the 2025 residencies had already sold out.
If you want a seat, book early. Before you pay a deposit, ask Cunard or your travel advisor a few questions the announcement does not answer:
- How and when the Sir Samuels dinner is reserved
- Whether it carries a charge on top of the fare
- Which nights Roux will be on board and cooking
Get those answers in writing. A voyage labeled "with Michel Roux" does not by itself promise you a seat at the tasting menu.
Queen Anne's time at Cunard is limited
There is one more reason to look at these dates closely. Queen Anne is scheduled to leave Cunard and sail for P&O Cruises from 2029, as part of a fleet swap among Carnival Corporation's brands. Our listing for the P&O version of the ship shows a debut in May 2029.
That makes the June 4, 2028, sailing one of the last chances to try Le Gavroche at Sea on this ship. Cunard has not said whether the residency will move to another ship after Queen Anne leaves. For now, the program and the ship are tied together.
