About A-ROSA Alva

A-ROSA Alva is the line's Douro river ship, the smallest in the fleet at 79.8 meters, with 61 outside cabins and two balcony suites for up to 126 guests. She was built in 2018 at the West Sea yard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, sized for the Douro's locks, and opened A-ROSA's Portuguese program in 2019. Her sun deck has a heated pool and putting green, and she has a panorama lounge with a bar and dance floor and an outdoor restaurant aft; at dinner, starters and desserts come from a buffet while soup and main courses are served at the table. Cruises start and end in Porto and follow the Douro valley, with stops such as Régua and Pinhão and an outing to Salamanca in Spain. She flies the Portuguese flag and is run as an international ship.
