About Aurora

Aurora is the oldest and smallest ship in the P&O Cruises fleet, built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, as an enlarged version of the earlier Oriana, with a tiered stern and other features echoing traditional ocean liners. She was named by Anne, Princess Royal, in Southampton and entered service in April 2000; her maiden voyage was cut short by a propulsion fault. She measures about 76,200 gross tons and carries about 1,900 guests, and she is one of two P&O ships reserved for adults. She was the first P&O ship to receive the Union flag livery, in a 2014 refit, and had a further dry-dock refurbishment in 2019.
