Avalon Alegria is Avalon Waterways' first ship in Portugal and its 15th Suite Ship in Europe, built for the Douro and christened in Pinhão on March 28, 2024, by actress Cheri Oteri. The 80-meter ship carries 102 guests in 37 Panorama Suites and 14 Deluxe Staterooms, and she has glass balcony panels and the line's first Sky Deck pool. Dutch designer Liane van Leeuwen drew her colors from the Douro Valley, and showcases of Portuguese azulejo tiles were made in Porto.
