About National Geographic Endurance
National Geographic Endurance is a polar expedition ship with a PC5 ice class and Ulstein's X-bow, a hull form meant to soften wave impacts and cut noise and vibration. The CRIST yard in Gdynia, Poland, built her hull and Ulstein completed her in Norway in March 2020, but the pandemic kept her idle until her maiden voyage from Reykjavík in July 2021. She carries 138 guests in 76 cabins and is named for Ernest Shackleton's ship. She spends the southern summer in Antarctica, South Georgia, the Falklands and Patagonia, and the northern summer around Svalbard and Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Scotland and the Faroes, plus repositioning voyages along Europe's Atlantic coast.
