About Norwegian Sun
Norwegian Sun is a mid-sized ship of about 78,300 gross tons with room for 1,878 guests at double occupancy, built by Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven, Germany, and christened in Miami in 2001 in a joint ceremony with Norwegian Star. Refurbished in 2024, she keeps a classic layout with Le Bistro, La Cucina, Magnum's Champagne and Wine Bar and an outdoor basketball and volleyball court. Her last Norwegian season has her sailing 12-day Panama Canal round trips from Miami in the 2026-27 winter and then Mediterranean voyages from Rome and Venice (Ravenna). In April 2025 the line's parent announced a long-term charter of the ship to India's Cordelia Cruises from 2027; her last listed Norwegian sailing ends in Dubai on September 26, 2027.
