About Viking Sky
Viking Sky is a 930-guest Viking Star-class ship that entered service with Viking Ocean Cruises in February 2017 and was christened in Tromsø that June. Built by Fincantieri at Ancona, she is 228 meters long, has an ice-strengthened hull (Finnish-Swedish class 1C) and offers veranda staterooms only. In March 2019 she lost engine power in a storm off Hustadvika, Norway, and part of her passengers were evacuated by helicopter. She is scheduled for Viking's 2026-2027 world voyage, leaving Fort Lauderdale in December 2026 for Hawaii, the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Africa before ending in Stockholm in June 2027.
