Six ships, a new eight-day Inside Passage itinerary and expanded Denali accommodation feature in the anniversary season.

Holland America Line has outlined its 2027 Alaska season as it prepares to mark 80 years of cruising in the region. In an October 5 announcement, the line said six ships will operate from April through September, using Seattle, Vancouver and Whittier gateways.

The fleet consists of Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zaandam. New features include an eight-day round-trip Vancouver Inside Passage itinerary and increased capacity at Holland America Denali Lodge. Noordam’s 28-day Arctic Circle Solstice voyage is scheduled to depart Seattle on June 6.

The new itinerary and the extended voyage differ sharply

The eight-day sailing includes Glacier Bay, Skagway, Ketchikan and Prince Rupert. The 28-day voyage represents a much longer commitment, extending into the Bering Sea and Arctic Circle. They should be compared as distinct options within the anniversary program, rather than as interchangeable Alaska cruises.

Travelers can start with the Holland America Line page and the Noordam ship page. The ship directory provides a way to compare the other vessels named in the program before narrowing the choice to a particular date.

For an Alaska itinerary, the exact route matters. A cruise’s duration, glacier-viewing schedule, port hours and sea days can change the experience even when several departures share the same regional label. Readers should compare the daily schedule alongside the ship and fare.

Denali expansion adds a land component

Holland America says two new guest buildings will increase Denali Lodge capacity by 72 rooms. The broader project includes refreshed Main Lodge interiors and public spaces and a renovation of the Grizzly Grind coffee shop, with work planned to be complete in 2027.

The accommodation expansion is relevant to travelers considering a land-and-sea trip. It does not mean that every Alaska cruise includes a Denali stay. A cruisetour needs its own confirmed itinerary, hotel allocation and transport arrangements. Those details establish how the land portion fits around the ship’s departure and arrival.

Readers should also compare the number of nights spent inland with the time spent at sea. A package can contain several different travel segments, and the pace of the whole trip may be more important than any one headline addition. The operator’s final booking information should make those segments clear.

Gateways shape the flight plan

Seattle, Vancouver and Whittier departures can lead to different air and ground arrangements. A round trip can simplify the comparison with an itinerary that begins and ends in different places. Travelers should look at the cruise endpoints before selecting flights.

Lounge Frog’s airport search and airline directory offer existing resources for the flight portion. Its lounge directory can help investigate departure and connection facilities. Lounge admission depends on the applicable flight, status or membership rather than the cruise line’s anniversary program.

The announcement gives the 2027 season a concrete framework: six ships, a new eight-day option, an extended Arctic voyage and planned Denali improvements. Individual departures and cruisetour details remain the basis for choosing a trip. Additional Alaska and deployment reporting is available in Cruise Frog news.
