About AIDAvita

AIDAvita was built by Aker MTW in Wismar and entered service in 2002 as AIDA's second ship, identical to AIDAaura. The 42,289-ton ship carried about 1,266 guests and in later years sailed AIDA's Selection program of longer, more unusual itineraries. Idle through the pandemic and laid up in Tallinn from late 2021, it never returned to service, and in June 2022 AIDA announced it had been sold. After a period as Avitak it was leased to a Chinese operator in 2024 and now sails as Blue Dream Melody.
