About Celebrity Xpedition

Celebrity Xpedition was a small expedition ship that sailed the Galápagos Islands for Celebrity Cruises for about two decades. Built by Cassens Werft in Emden, Germany, she entered service in 2001 as Sun Bay before Royal Caribbean Group bought her for Celebrity's Galápagos program. In June 2024 Celebrity confirmed it had sold her and Celebrity Xploration to Lindblad Expeditions and cancelled all of their 2025 departures. The handover took place in early 2025, and Lindblad has since refitted her and renamed her National Geographic Gemini.
