About Kong Harald
Kong Harald is an 11,204-ton coastal ship completed in 1993 and named for King Harald V of Norway; she is a sister of Richard With and Nordlys. She has 218 cabins, including two suites, and beds for up to 577 guests. A 2016 refurbishment gave her an Arctic-inspired interior, and in 2023 she was converted to a battery-hybrid ship with new engines, which Hurtigruten says cut fuel use and carbon emissions by about a quarter. On board are three restaurants, the Multe bakery and ice-cream bar, a sauna, a fitness room, two outdoor hot tubs and a panorama lounge on the top deck. She sails the Original Bergen–Kirkenes coastal route year-round.
