About Koningsdam
Koningsdam is the lead ship of Holland America's Pinnacle class and the first named for the Dutch king; Queen Máxima of the Netherlands is her godmother. Built by Fincantieri, she was delivered in March 2016 and began sailing in April. At about 99,900 gross tons with some 2,650 guests, she was the largest ship Holland America had commissioned, and readers' awards later named her a best mid-sized cruise ship. She sails Alaska from Vancouver in summer and spends winters based in San Diego, with cruises to Mexico and longer voyages to Hawaii and Tahiti.
