About National Geographic Islander

National Geographic Islander was Lindblad's smaller Galápagos ship before 2022, an Ecuadorian-flagged vessel dated to 1995 in the company's annual reports that carried 48 guests in 24 cabins on year-round voyages through the islands alongside National Geographic Endeavour II. In 2021 Lindblad bought the yacht Crystal Esprit to replace her, and when the rebuilt National Geographic Islander II began sailing in the third quarter of 2022, the original Islander was retired from service in August of that year. Lindblad's 2022 annual report described her as fully depreciated and held for disposal; what became of her afterward is not reported in the sources used here.
