About Star Breeze
Star Breeze is an all-suite Star Class yacht for 312 guests, completed in Germany in 1989 as Seabourn Spirit. In November 2005, sailing as Seabourn Spirit off Somalia, she was attacked by pirates, who were driven off with a long-range acoustic device. She left Seabourn in April 2015 and was rechristened for Windstar on May 6, 2015. Windstar then had her lengthened with a new 84-foot midsection holding 50 more staterooms, a project delayed from February to November 2020 by asbestos found in the engine room. She is based in Tahiti, sailing from Papeete through French Polynesia, with longer voyages to Fiji, Bali and Singapore.
