About Sylvia Earle
Sylvia Earle is Aurora Expeditions' second purpose-built ship, built by China Merchants Heavy Industry in Jiangsu, China, and named in honor of the marine biologist Sylvia Earle. She made her inaugural voyage from Ushuaia in 2022. The 104-meter ship has eight decks and 71 cabins for up to 130 guests, an Ulstein X-Bow and a glass atrium lounge. Her public decks honor six women in conservation, and a Citizen Science Center supports the research projects guests can join on board. She spends the southern summer on Antarctic expeditions from Ushuaia and the northern summer on Arctic and European itineraries.
