About Viking Brahmaputra
Viking Brahmaputra is an upcoming 80-guest ship built for the Brahmaputra River in northeastern India, Viking's first river ship there. Its name joins the Sanskrit words for Brahma, the Hindu creator god, and putra, son. Viking said in March 2026 that it would begin operating in late 2027; the first listed Wonders of India departure leaves Delhi on October 11, 2027, with the river section starting about a week later. It will sail Wonders of India, whose eight-night Brahmaputra cruise runs between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in Assam, framed by stays in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Its 40 staterooms all have verandas, and the ship has an open-air Sky Bar, a spa and fitness center, and an elevator.
