About Viking Gyda
Viking Gyda is a 106-guest member of the Longship family built for Portugal's Douro River, in service since 2025. Gyda, its namesake, is the Hordaland king's daughter who appears in the legend of Harald Fairhair's unification of Norway. Viking's 2026-2027 calendar has it mostly on Portugal's River of Gold, a round trip from Porto up the Douro valley with a day trip to Salamanca in Spain. The 80-meter ship has 53 outside staterooms, most with a veranda or French balcony, plus a sun-deck swimming pool and an outdoor Aquavit Terrace at the bow. Built at the West Sea yard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, it was delivered in August 2025 as the fifth ship in Viking's Douro fleet.
