About Westerdam
Westerdam is the third of Holland America's Vista-class ships and the third ship of the name, in service since April 2004. At about 81,800 gross tons she carries some 1,960 guests. A 2007 refit added 34 cabins and reworked several public rooms, and Holland America lists a later refurbishment in 2017. Her name combines the Dutch word for west with the fleet's -dam suffix. She spends summers in Alaska, sailing from Vancouver and Seattle and on one-way routes to Whittier, and cooler months in Asia and Australia, with cruises from Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
